What we collect, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it. Kyoto Shiitake Estate is operated by EXOS STUDIO in Keihoku, Kyoto, Japan.

We collect the least we can: enough to engrave your plate, send you your reports and parcels, and take payment. We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with anyone except the few services listed below that are needed to run the membership.
We do not ask for a date of birth, a government ID, or anything about your health.
To perform the contract you have with us: reserving and marking your log, producing and sending your reports, packing and shipping your box and harvest, taking payment, and answering you. We also keep the records Japanese tax and commercial law requires us to keep.
We will email you about your own membership. We will not add you to a marketing list without asking, and every optional email we send can be unsubscribed from in one click.
That is the whole list. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising, and we do not sell it at all — including within the meaning of California law.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and read this site — which pages are opened, roughly where in the world visitors are, and which link brought them here. It sets cookies in your browser and sends that information to Google. We ask Google to shorten your IP address before storing it, and we have not enabled Google's advertising or remarketing features.
We use it to decide what to write and where to spend, not to identify you. We do not upload your name, email or address to Google, and we do not sell or share what it collects.
You can opt out at any time with Google's browser add-on, or by blocking cookies for this site — the site works exactly the same either way.
Apart from Google Analytics, this site loads nothing from a third-party network: the fonts, images and scripts are all served from our own server. If we later add an advertising pixel, we will update this page and say so plainly before we turn it on.
We are in Japan, so your information is stored and handled in Japan. If you are in the United States, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or elsewhere, using this service means your information is transferred to Japan. Japan is recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection.
We keep your membership details for as long as you are a member, and for two years afterwards in case you come back or a question arises. Records of payments are kept for seven years, as Japanese law requires. After that we delete them.
Wherever you live, you may ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email us and we will do it — normally within 30 days, and without charging you. We will never treat you differently for asking.
If you would rather your name not appear in any photograph we publish, tell us and we will keep it out.
Access to member information is limited to the people who need it to run the service. Card details never reach our systems. If a breach ever affected you, we would tell you and the relevant authority without delay.
This service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
